Who I Am
I am a loving and passionate mother, birth doula, early childhood and special needs teacher, friend, sister, daughter and involved member of my community.
I live with my beautiful family near Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, Australia. Bundjalung and Yugambeh country. Here I work raising my children, as a Birth Doula and as a carer of both big and little people in my community.
My Journey
My path to becoming a doula began with my own transformative birth experiences. The profound impact of having supportive, knowledgeable care during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period inspired me to offer this same support to other families.
As an early childhood and special needs teacher, I bring a deep understanding of child development, learning differences, and family dynamics to my doula practice. This unique combination allows me to support families not just through birth, but in understanding their children's needs as they grow.
My Philosophy
I believe that every birth is unique and sacred. My role is to support you in making informed decisions that feel right for you and your family. I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to birth - instead, I work with you to understand your values, concerns, and hopes for your birth experience.
Whether you're planning a home birth, hospital birth, or birth center experience, I'm here to provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support. I believe in the power of birth to transform and the importance of feeling supported during this incredible journey.
What I Offer
- Birth Doula Services: Prenatal support, birth attendance, and postpartum care
- Educational Support: Information about pregnancy, birth options, and newborn care
- Emotional Support: A calm, reassuring presence during your birth journey
- Advocacy: Helping ensure your voice is heard and your choices respected
- Practical Support: Comfort measures, positioning, and partner support
Beyond Birth
When I'm not supporting families through birth, you might find me spending time with my own children, exploring the beautiful Northern Rivers region, or continuing my education in child development and birth work. I'm passionate about community, connection, and creating spaces where families feel supported and empowered.
